Fellow Alumni,

The year started off with many exciting opportunities for GIHANA. The Board met and reviewed our six months plans. There is still work that needs to be done with some opportunities for improvements. There are some activities that we encouraged, and some that deserved commendation with recognitions. I would like to thank those who have helped to give GIHANA a name within the alumni circle, one that they can trust and support with confidence.

I would like to restate two main aims for the organization which are (1) To bring together and nourish the social, psychological and spiritual character of the GIHANA’s members and affiliates through group functions, social activities, and meetings. And (2) To seek ways to plan and implement projects for the primary purpose of benefiting the development of the school and its pupils.

With these reasons, I want you to support our annual fundraising event in Toronto, Canada on August 2, 2008. We are excited to bring this occasion into focus because reuniting is always joyous, and it brings back many memorable events. The Board met last night (January 21, 2008) and confirmed some important items that will make the event worthwhile. I will be publishing the venue and hotels information as soon as possible. The event ties in with Caribana weekend, so if you are planning on attending Caribana, then you can take "one stone and kill two birds."

Keep your eyes and ears tuned to GIHANA’s News Briefs and website for more information (http://www.greenislandalumni.com). Thanks again, and I always look forward for your blessings and guidance as we move forward into 2008 and beyond.

Please forward this to friends or alumni that need to know about the event.

Carlton Foster
President of GIHANA
