Nomination of Officers
Fellow Alumni,
We are once again ready to select officers for the term 2011-2012. Nomination begins 08/15/2011.
An electoral committee was formed and the process for nomination and election of officers begun. The process is as follows:
1. The Electoral Committee will administer the entire election process.
2. If any electoral committee member is nominated, another member will replace the appointment.
3. During the membership enrollment, the voter’s registration information will be recorded. The electoral committee will use these records for verification.
4. The period of nomination will end on 09/26/2011 at 12:00 midnight. Election Day is 10/2/2011.
5. A ballot with the names of the offices as stated in the Bylaw (article 5.e) will constitute the slate where people can be nominated for more than one office.
6. Nominations of officers shall be made by the following means:
a. Online – (Internet – http://www.greenislandalumni.com/election)
b. E-Mail (to Electoral committee – election@greenislandalumni.com)
c. Phone call (with caller ID enabled, calling from a registered phone number to two or more electoral committee members – list is posted on the website).
d. Mail to P.O. Box 278073, Miramar, FL 33027
7. A notice will be sent to the nominated person within five (5) days of the nomination.
8. The nominee has five (5) days to decline the nomination in to the electoral committee.
9. All accepted nomination will be posted on the GIHANA web page. A one section personal advertisement or campaign note (including resume) is optional for each nominee.
10. The election of officers shall be held on 10/2/2011.
11. In the event that a vote for the presidency received less than 25% of the vote or a tie, a run-off is necessary to determine the president.
12. A simple major is needed for all the other offices.
13. All votes shall be done by the following means:
a. Online – (via login page – for paid members only)
b. E-Mail (to electoral committee – election@greenislandalumni.com)
c. Phone call (with caller ID enabled, calling from a registered phone number to two or more electoral committee members – list posted on website).
d. Mail to P.O. Box 278073, Miramar, FL 33027
Upon installation of the officers whose terms begin at the close of the Annual Meeting, all documents, records, and any materials pertaining to the duties of the office as designated in the bylaws, which are in the possession of the outgoing officers, shall be submitted to the newly elected counterpart within fifteen days of the installation.

GIHANA officers are responsible for serving a one-year term and attending
scheduled board meetings.
If you have not yet paid your US$20 dues, please do so now to participate
in this important process. Your participation in voting or serving
as officers is only available to paid members.
